Maxey Industries owners Radona and Mark Maxey just expanded.

Expansion is on the horizon for Shelbyville’s own — Maxey Industries. Thanks to their recent acquisition of Hartlage Manufacturing, located in Buckner, they will significantly expand their current injection molding division.

“The acquisition of Hartlage will help us expand our portfolio and become more diverse in the products we mold,” says Maxey Industries co-owner, Radona Maxey. “Right now we are really heavy in automotive and want to branch out into other divisions.”

With their headquarters located in Shelbyville’s Hi-Point Industrial Park, Maxey Industries owners, Mark and Radona Maxey, have been serving customers since 2008. They provide a host of services, including logistics, trucking, injection molding, diesel truck repair, packaging, warehousing and much more.

They began operations as a freight brokerage company in 2008 and eventually expanded to warehousing and storage to meet the growing needs of their customer base. Their sister company, Shelbyville Expediting Services, has provided trucking services since 1999. The company has in its fleet cargo vans, box trucks and semi trucks with 53-foot dry vans that can provide just-in-time delivery.

“Our job at the foundation is to create new jobs,” said Ray Leathers, president/CEO is Shelby County Industrial and Development Foundation, Inc. “As much as we get excited about attracting new industry to Shelby County, we’re always even more excited to see the expansion and growth of existing industry.”

Maxey Industries currently employs roughly 100 people and with the acquisition of Hartlage Manufacturing, it will add an additional eight employees to the staff, as it intends to relocate the existing Hartlage equipment to its facilities in Shelbyville.

“We have a special tie to the Maxeys as they have been a partner with the foundation for years,” Leathers said. “The hard work, success and investment by business leaders like the Maxeys make Shelby County one of the fastest growing companies in Kentucky. They help make Shelby County a great place to live, work and raise a family.”
