The Shelby County High School Booster Club is seeking nominations for a parent representative to serve on the SCHS Site Based Decision Making Council. The parent representative elected will serve a two-year term beginning July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2026. The Site Based Decision Making Council (SBDM) meets monthly at the high school.

SBDM Councils are responsible for developing policies that improve student achievement. SBDM Councils have decision making responsibilities in the following areas: School Improvement Plans, plans for closing achievement gaps, professional development plans, budget spending, policy setting, personnel consultation, and principal selection.

SBDM Councils have the ability to help create a successful school environment, but parental involvement is needed. Please consider nominating yourself or someone you know who is dedicated to student achievement.

For qualifications and a nomination form stop by Shelby County High School, or call the SCHS Youth Services Center at 633-2344 ext. 3212.

The deadline to submit nominations is 3:00pm on Tuesday, May 7th, 2024. The election will be held at Shelby County High School on Tuesday, May 14th, 2024 from 8:00am until 4:00pm at SCHS and from 6:00pm until 7:00pm at the Shelby County Convention Center (before the student awards program.)
