  • Engagement: Johnson-Lisby

    Todd and Kathleen Johnsonof Owensboro announce the engagement of their daughter, Sara Elizabeth Johnson of Owensboro, to Matthew Michael Ray Lisby of Finchville. He is the son of Don and Karen Lisby of Finchville, and Leigh Ann Geralds of St. Petersburg, Fla.

    The wedding will take place 6:30 p.m. June 23, 2012, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Owensboro.

  • Birth: Wannemacher son

    Kevin and Kimberly Wannemacher of Wichita Falls, Texas, announce the birth of their third child, a son, on April 5, 2012. He has been named Lucas Andrew.

    Grandparents are Keith and Rita Hall of Shelbyville, Lori Janusko of Louisville and Denny and Pat Wannemacher of Troy Ohio.

  • Birth: Fussenegger daughter

    Katie of Joe Fussenegger of Simpsonville announce the birth of their first child, Sophie Elizabeth, on March 19, 2012. She was born at 1:08 a.m. at Baptist Hospital East 7.12 pounds and 19.5 inches long.

    Grandparents are Sharon and Dale Kramer of Simpsonville, and Patty and Oscar Fussenegger of Florence. Great-grandparents are Charles and Diana Kramer of Simpsonville, John and Teresa Franklin of Louisville, Foster and Nell Doolin of Glasgow and Anne Atkins of Hopkinsville.

    The following cases were heard by Judge Linda Armstrong:

    Jonathan K. Hardy, first-degree criminal mischief – dismissed without prejudice.

    Alfonso Jaimes-Alaniz, first-offense DUI, no operator's/moped license and failure to produce insurance card – plead guilty – 30-day sentence, operator's license suspended for 120 days and $1,078 fine and costs.

  • Kregor begins play in state on Thursday

    Collins sophomore Paige Kregor, the 8th Region runner-up, will play Sacred Heart’s Caroline Walter on Thursday morning in the first round of the girls’ 2012 KHSAA State Tennis Tournament.

    Kregor, who lost to South Oldham sixth-grader Stephanie Pitts in last Thursday’s 8th Region final, will face Walter, who is one of the eight No. 9-seeded players, at 8 a.m. at Shillito Park in Lexington.
