    Adult Winter Read

    Once again it is time for the Adult Winter Read at the Shelby County Public Library, which began on Jan. 14 and will continue through March 16. To enter, come to the Library and register. All who register will be entered into a drawing to win up to ten great prizes. The more you read and the more programs or events you attend the more opportunities you have to win.

    Christmas tree pickup

    The Public Works Department will be picking up discarded live Christmas trees. You must have all lights and decorations removed from the tree, or it will not be picked up. This service will be offered from Jan. 2 to 31.  Please call the Public Works Department at (502) 633-1094 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with your address. The tree should be placed by the curb (not blocking the sidewalk or street).

    Homemakers book club

    The Homemakers book club, meets at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 26 at the Shelby County Extension office, 1117 Frankfort Road. Participants can bring their lunches and favorite books they have read to tell other club members about them and then take home a new book to read.
