    Timothy and Lora Hawkins of Shelbyville announce the engagement of their daughter, Cayla Rae Hawkins of Taylorsville, to Anthony Shane Waldridge of Taylorsville. He is the son of Greta Ames, A.J. Waldridge and Gladys Waldridge, all of Taylorsville.

    The best man was James Summitt Jr., brother of the groom.

  • Birth: Jeffers daughter

    Jason and Amy Jeffers of Shelbyville announce the birth of their second child, a daughter, on June 27, 2013 at Baptist Health. She has been named Kennedy KayAnne Jeffers. She was born at 7:48 a.m., weighing 9 pounds 2 ounces, and was 21.75 inches long. She has an older sister, 2-year-old Noel.

    Grandparents are L. Leon and Judy Gill of Shelbyville, Clarence and Lois Jeffers of Louisville.

  • 40th anniversary: Ricky Thomas and Carolyn Rose Pinkston Cox

    Ricky Thomas Cox and the former Carolyn Rose Pinkston were married July 19, 1973, at Finchville Baptist Church.

    Her parents are Billy and Jean Pinkston, and his parents are Paul Thomas Cox and the late Nancy Cox.

    He has been employed by Roll Forming Corporation for 40 years, and she has been retired for four years.

    Amanda and Michael Price of Shelbyville were married on June 29, 2013, at Wheeler Farms in Shelbyville.

    Parents of the bride are Kim Searcy and David Wheeler of Waddy. The groom is the son of Jerry and Becky Price of Shelbyville. Gary Nethery officiated the ceremony.

    The bride was given in marriage by Wheeler, Kim Searcy and Gavin Watson, the bride’s son.

    Michael Austin Giles was selected to attend West Point Academy in New York. Cadet Giles was one of two chosen from the state of Kentucky, and one of 1,000 chosen from the 15,000 applicants from across The United States.
