• 30th anniversary: Chris and Katy Kleymeyer

    Chris and Katy Kleymeyer have been married for 30 years. The couple was married Sept. 10, 1983.

    They moved to Shelbyville in 2004 from Fort Knox when Col. Kleymeyer retired after 30 years as a military policeman, where he was the commander of the Fort Knox Military Police. He is now the director of training for the Department of Corrections in Kentucky’s Justice and Public Safety Cabinet.

    She is the former Katy C. Huntelmann, of Fort Mitchell and is employed at Bluegrass Checking in Shelbyville.

  • Engagement: Gilbert-Tolliver

    Sharon and James Gilbert of Mount Eden announce the engagement of their daughter, Sylvia Brooke Gilbert of Mount Eden, to Matthew Shane Tolliver of Waddy. He is the son of Rebecca and Henry Tolliver of Waddy.

    She works in the shipping department at The Recon Group. He is a signal designer at Railway Signal Systems.

    The wedding will take place at 4 p.m. on Sept. 21, 2013 at Old Country Church in Mount Eden.

    All friends and family are welcome.

  • Miss Heart of USA

    Tiffany Broughton, Miss Shelby County for 2013, won Miss Heart of the USA on Sunday. She will go to Orlando, Fla., in November to compete for a national title. This pageant’s platform is to stomp out hunger. She is the daughter of John and Candi Broughton, and her grandparents are Linda Payton of Pleasureville and Bill and Rose Broughton of Shelbyville. She will compete in January 2014 for Miss Kentucky County Fair.

    The Waddy High School class of 1952 celebrated its 61st reunion at Claudia Sanders Dinner House in Shelbyville.     The 60th reunion of the 1953 Waddy High School class was at Claudia Sanders’ Dinner House.   • 60th anniversary: Ann and Ken McAnear

    Ann and Ken McAnear of Shelbyville have been married for 60 years. The couple were married on Sept. 10, 1953, in Brady, Texas.

    They are the parents of Paul and Sharon McAnear, Kendra and Gary Rivoli and Marty McAnear. They are the grandparents of Matt McAnear, Erin and Matt Mulligan, Rachel and Scott McGalliard; and great-grandparents of Avery McGalliard.

    They celebrated during the Labor Day weekend in Jefferson City, Tenn., at the home of Paul and Sharon McAnear, with family coming from Georgia, Pennsylvania, Washington, DC, Louisville and Shelbyville.

  • 90th birthday: Simon Humphrey Jr.

    Simon Humphrey Jr. will celebrate his 90th birthday on Sept. 13.

    He was born in 1923 in Nelson County and has spent his life farming in Spencer and Shelby counties.

    He has been married to Margaret Reynolds, also from Nelson County, since July 14, 1945.

    Together they have 11 children, 28 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

  • 50th anniversary: Schostkewitz

    Judy and Vic Schostkewitz have been married for 50 years.

    They were married on Aug. 17, 1963, at the First Presbyterian Church of Dunellen, N.J., while he was in the Navy.

    They celebrated on Aug. 17 during a party at Bell House, with more than 30 family members, many of whom traveled from New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

    After he retired, they have been living in Kentucky for nearly 10 years. She is a part-time bookkeeper at Kile Signs, and he works at Works of Art Clock Shop. They are members of the First Presbyterian Church in Shelbyville.
