  • Anniversary

    Doris and Roger Chandler of Shelbyville were married Sept. 13, 1958 in Eminence and will celebrate their 60th anniversary next month.

    They are the parents of Mark (Marcy) Chandler and Robin Chandler (David Cook) of Shelbyville and Mamaw and Papaw to grandchildren Kristin, Emily and Madison Chandler of Shelbyville; Rachel Edmonson of Madison; Sarah Cook of Louisville and Great-Grandparents to Elizabeth Johnson of Shelbyville and Kennedy and Rayden Edmonson of Madison.

  • White celebrates 100 years

    Marie White celebrates her 100th birthday. She was born, raised, and lived her entire life in and around Simpsonville, Shelby County. She was married to the late Fred White, also of Simpsonville, in 1941. She is pictured here with her 3 sons, left to right:  David, Keith, and John

  • Bells celebrate 36 years

     Calvin and Crevella Bell celebrate 36 years of marriage. They are the parents of two adult children, three grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. The groom is a Baptist minister of 39 years and a fourth generation Baptist preacher who has served three churches and preached in 12 states. The bride is retired from the NYC Law Department. They reside in Shelbyville.

  • Waddy High School Class of 1958 reunites

    The Waddy High School class of 1958 held a reunion on June 21. Pictured left to right in front: Joann Cook Bain, Judy Rice Vest and Fay Temple Bentley.   • LeCompte Family holds reunion

     The LeCompte Family Reunion was held at the Bagdad Ruritan Club building on June 24, with 65 people in attending. There was also a surprise birthday celebration for Shirley Gill.

  • Chowning celebrates 94 years

     Bessie Chowning, who recently celebrated her 94th birthday, shows off a book her daughter wrote as a gift. The book tells of her youth in Owen County. Though Chowning lives in Shelbyville, she always returns to the farm for a picnic for her birthday. There were more than 100 guests at her party, including her children and their families.

  • Birth Announcement - Foster Gray Matthews

     Morgan and Rob Matthews of Lexington announce the birth of their first child, a son, on July 10, 2018 at St. Joseph East. He has been named Foster Gray. Grandparents are Melissa and Charlie Matthews of Shelbyville and Shelia and Ronnie Biggerstaff of Whitesburg. Josie Moffett of Shelbyville is the great-grandmother.
