Wednesday's First 4

It's time to dust off the old blog again because - to steal a line from one of my favorite Steve Carell movies - I'm afraid if I don't use it I might lose it. So here's a quick glance at Wednesday.

1. The big news of the day, and so far the week, is the (cough, cough) resignation of Shelby County boys' basketball coach Rick Parsons.

2. In other news, the Collins and Shelby County baseball teams both scored Tuesday victories to remain undefeated on the young season. It seems the Rockets' favorite number is six, because that's how many runs they've scored in all of their victories.

3. Speaking of yesterday's sports, I think the Shelby County All-Comers track & field meet might still be going on. It had a great turnout - which makes sense since it was one of the first meets of the season - and great weather to boot.

4. In today's sports, the Shelby County softball team plays at Manual in its second game of the season. Meanwhile the Shelby County boys' tennis team plays at Trimble County and the Collins boys' and girls' teams host Gallatin County.
