Six for Friday

Here are six items for Friday:

1. The Collins boys' soccer team will play host Male on Saturday (I'm still not sure of the time) in the final of the Bulldog Cup. The Titans beat Holy Cross 5-0 Thursday night to earn that right. Matthew Murphy, Baker Medley, Caleb Vogel, Dylan Gravett and Phillip Burkhardt scored goals for Collins. Also Thursday night, the Shelby County boys' soccer team handled Henry County 8-0 at the Shelby County Athletic Complex.

2. Also Thursday night the Collins volleyball team fell at 25th-ranked South Oldham 25-18, 25-13, while Shelby County beat Henry County 25-18, 25-10.

3. Something that didn't make it in today's paper are the new cross country rankings. Collins senior Caterina Karas and her younger sister Gabby, a seventh-grader, are ranked Nos. 1 & 2 among the girls in Class 2A, while Shelby County junior Taylor Webb is 13th. The Titans are also ranked third in the team Top 10 behind region rivals South and North Oldham. Meanwhile on the boys' side Collins is rated fifth led by junior Devon Fielding, who is ranked 16th.

4. Shelbyville's Brandon Brown is tied for 15th-place after Thursday's second round of the final NGA/Hooters Pro Golf Tour event of the season.

5. If you have the NFL Network I hope you're watching 'A Football Life,' which is following New England Coach Bill Belichick during the 2009 season. It's very interesting. Here's a quick clip.

6. Speaking of clips, if you've got some time to kill today here are The 50 Best 'Saturday Night Live' skits.
