SHELBYVILLE CITY COUNCIL - Council relinquishes alley

-A A +A
By Ashley Sutter

On Thursday the Shelbyville City Council during its regularly scheduled meeting, approved an order declaring real property unsuitable for public use concerning an old alleyway behind homes on Alton Road.  The family that owns the adjoining lot approached the city several weeks ago to discuss the alley, which they were already maintaining. The alley is no longer in use.

“It can no longer be used for that [purpose],” City Attorney Steve Gregory said. “There’s no ingress or egress to it.”
