Students Chelsea Keown and Destiny Wright joined adviser Renee Smith at the FCCLA (Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America) National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, Cal., July 9-16.

Keown presented the Kentucky State winning Entrepreneurship STAR (Students Taking Action with Recognition) Event after winning both the regional and state titles. She received a gold medal in this event at National, which is the highest level of achievement.

The entrepreneurship event she created and presented was "Camp HERO".... a nutrition- and fitness-centered day camp for children. STAR Events are competitive events in which members are recognized for proficiency and achievement in chapter and individual projects, leadership skills, and career preparation.

STAR Events offer individual skill development and application of learning.

Wright was recognized for the Power of One achievement, which is a series of completed goals in the area of family, career, community, leadership and school.

Power of One gives youth the POWER to fulfill their dreams by creating self-directed projects that focus on personal and family  topics.

All three had the opportunity to serve as evaluators and attend various meetings and leadership training seminars.
