Superintendent recommends tax stay flat

With classes underway, this week’s Shelby County Board of Education meeting will be the first one in the new school year.

And there are some important discussions that the board will be holding to mark the beginning of school.

The most eye-catching item on the board’s agenda for the upcoming meeting is the proposal of the upcoming fiscal year’s tax rate, but Shelby County Public Schools Public Relations Coordinator Cyndi Skellie said county residents need not be worried about potential tax hikes.
