He will visit the Harvest Coffee and Café during the afternoon.

U.S. Sen. Rand Paul will make a stop in Shelbyville on Wednesday to chat with constituents at a downtown establishment.

Paul is scheduled to be at the Harvest Coffee and Café, inside Masterpieces for Your Home, at 524 Main St., between 2:30 and 3:15 p.m.

Paul, a Republican from Bowling Green mentioned as a potential presidential candidate in 2016, will be in Frankfort on Wednesday morning addressing the Kentucky Senate State & Local Government Committee and then will venture to Shelby County as part of what is a routine exercise for him.

“Senator Paul regularly travels throughout the state to meet with fellow Kentuckians,” said Jennifer Decker, his field representative for Shelby County. “He visits as many counties as his schedule permits when he is in each region of the state.

“Tomorrow [Wednesday] he will visit both Franklin and Shelby Counties. Before the Shelbyville coffee stop, Sen. Paul will appear in front of the Kentucky Senate State & Local Government Committee to testify in support of restoring voting rights in the commonwealth for many non-violent felons.”
