More on the Trinity-Collins soccer match

I know I posted the final score of sixth-ranked Collins' 1-0 soccer victory over No. 2 Trinity last night, but here's a little more.

Near the end of a fairly even first half Collins senior Walker Andriot got through two Trinity defenders and beat the Shamrocks' goalie to the upper right corner of the net for the lone goal of the match.

The Titans had a chance to add to their lead with about 14:48 to play, but Ryan Metcalf missed at a wide open goal after Trinity's goalie knocked down Andriot's free kick.

Collins controlled the ball for a good deal of the second half until Jeff Cook received a red card, after his second yellow card of the match, forcing the Titans to play a man down for the final 10:41.

The Shamrocks' best scoring opportunity came with just under 4 minutes to play, but Collins keeper Brandon Hughes was there to stomach a Trinity shot.

It was a huge win for the Titans, and their program, showing the rest of the state that they are a force to be reckoned with this season.
