A Louisville man was taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash on the Shelbyville Bypass shortly before Friday.

Shelbyville Police said Ronald F. Femi, 58, suffered a head wound and four broken ribs.

The crash happened at the intersection of Freedom's Way and Midland Industrial Road.

Krystal M. Hardin, 35, of Shelbyville, and three children in an SUV were not injured, except for a bloody nose suffered by one of the children.

A police report said that the accident happened as Hardin was traveling north, and Femi was traveling south on Freedom’s Way, and Femi turned left to go onto Midland Industrial, into the path of the SUV, and was struck in the passenger side, knocking the car into a ditch.

Femi was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital by Shelby County EMS, where he was listed in stable condition on Monday.
