I-64 lane closures, delays on Wednesday

Construction zone work and roving patching will stretch until late evening

Get ready for some traffic delays today on Interstate 64.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced that one lane of eastbound I-64 will be closed from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. today in the construction zone between Simpsonville and just east of Exit 32 in Shelbyville.

Crews will be performing some drainage repairs to alleviate ponding of water on the roadway. Traffic will be shifted to the right lane just east of the Simpsonville exit (Exit 28). Motorists will have access to the welcome center and Exit 32 in Shelbyville.
Later, on Wednesday evening, a mobile pothole patching operation Wednesday evening on Interstate 64 in Shelby County.  KYTC crews will be working on both eastbound and westbound I-64 between mile points 43 and 48. Motorists should expect some intermittent traffic delays between 7:30 p.m. and 11 p.m.
