Cross country: Karas, Webb lead Lady Rockets

The SCHS girls’ cross-country team finished 12th out of 22 teams at the Lexington Catholic Invitational large school 5K race Saturday at the Kentucky Horse Park.

Caterina Karas led the team with a 10th-place finish, in a time of 19 minutes, 59 seconds, out of the more than 160 individual runners. Taylor Webb was just behind her in 23rd, with a time of 20:42.

Sacred Heart’s Emma Brink won the event in 18:49; she was the only runner under 19 minutes.

Manual took the team title with 58 points, placing all five runners in the top 25.
