Get a head start on Christmas shopping with 31 gifts in the Fellowship Hall after the 11 a.m. worship hour on Oct. 27. This will be used as a fundraiser for our children's ministry. First Baptist Shelbyville

Since 1988, Niki has been the team leader for a series of treasurers and financial committee members who have guided the church through several renovations, building additions and three senior pastors. The church is a collection site for Edge Outreach Shoes for Water. Donations of new and used shoes to Edge Outreach create clean drinking water for people in need. Shoes of all types are acceptable – from flip-flops to high heels, from boots to football cleats. FCC also is collecting used hearing-aid batteries, box tops, Campbell’s labels, eyeglasses, plastic bags (Kroger, Walmart, etc.), coupons (current or expired), canceled postage stamps, pop tops from aluminum cans and current magazines for mission projects. Help Make Coverlet Bedspreads for A Place to Sleep from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 21 at Making Ends Meet. Stay all day or a few hours. Bring your sewing machine if you have one. The Outreach Committee also is collecting non-perishable food items to make small bags that can be given to anyone who comes to the church needing food. Donated items need to be "hand" friendly – pop-tops, small packages, any item that can be eaten without heating. Leave these donations in the Love Sunday baskets. The Covenant Group continues to collect old blankets and towels for the Shelby County Animal Shelter. Place them in the designated container in the Assembly Room. We still need used or new tennis balls for Heritage Elementary. Place them in the white basket in the Assembly Room. The church also continues to collect expired/unwanted coupons for the military, used hearing-aid batteries and round plastic tops from mayo jars, soda bottles, shampoo, etc. for a Painted Stone Elementary art project. The Backpack Project is in need of the following items: Vienna sausages, soup and canned pastas with pop tops; Pop Tarts and cereal bowls, fruit cups, peanut butter crackers, individual packages of chips, rice-crispy treats, puddings. Place them in the basket marked in the Assembly Room.

Grace Assembly of God

Sunday school for all ages begins at 9:30 a.m., with praise and worship at 10:30 and 6 p.m. Children’s church for 4-to-12-year-olds and a nursery are provided.
