One of our main projects in Guatemala this summer will be the distribution of clothing and flip flops to villagers. Help by bringing gently, used or new summer clothing and flip-flops in all sizes. Remember to bring smaller adult sizes. We also need individually wrapped, non-chocolate candy and gum to hand out as we minister. Financial donations for the pizza/movie nights for the senior assisted living house and orphanage are also welcome. The team will be gone June 22-29. Boxes for all items are at rear entrances to the main church building. Pray for our team. Remember to continue to bring your filled baby bottles for A Loving Choice. You may fill them with loose change, dollars or a check. All bottles need to be returned to the basket in the sanctuary by Father’s Day, June 15. The church is a collection site for Edge Outreach Shoes for Water. Donations of new and used shoes create clean drinking water for people in need. Shoes of all types are acceptable – from flip-flops to high heels, from boots to football cleats. FCC also is collecting used hearing-aid batteries, box tops, Campbell’s labels, eyeglasses, plastic bags from Kroger, Walmart, etc., coupons either current or expired, canceled postage stamps, pop tops from aluminum cans and current magazines for mission projects. Kroger gift cards may be purchased from the church. Each time a card is purchased or reloaded, the church earns 4 percent. Contact the church office for more information. Donations designated for Love Sunday will be used to help our neighbors in need. We will also be collecting our Pentecost offering, 40 percent stays to benefit youth activities in our congregation while the other 60 percent helps children at risk globally. Proceeds will help send our young people to the Montreat Middle School Conference in July. The Youth Covenant Group will sell AVON Sunscreen/Bug Guard as a fundraiser. Boy Scouts meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Adult choir rehearsal is 7:15 p.m. Wednesday. The Covenant Youth Group will go to Slugger Field and have decided to invite the whole church to join them Wednesday night. The cost will be somewhere between $8-$12.
