Catholic Church of Annunciation

The RCIA session on Jan. 12 will be led by our pastor, Fr. Mike Tobin, on the topics of the Sacrament of "Penance" and the "Anointing of the Sick," two Sacraments that the ordained Deacon cannot administer. Fr. Mike will cover in this session: why Penance is such an important part of the Catholic Faith; why we confess our sins to a priest; a step-by-step guide to reception of the sacrament; the benefits and graces of frequent Confession; and finally, a look at the other Sacrament of Healing – Anointing of the Sick, and how some folks still remember this sacrament being called the "Extreme Unction" or "Last Rites," and why at the last Church Council - Vatican II it was changed to "Anointing of the Sick."
