Catholic Church of Annunciation
The church will have a mission Feb. 14 to 16 at 7 p.m. Babysitting will be provided each night. The leader of the mission, Christ is the Light will be Gary Montgomery. He has been a professional communicator for over 35 years, retired as Sports Director with WDRB-TV, Fox 41 in 2007. He founded his speaking and training business 15 years ago and has addressed audiences all over the county and beyond. He is a Louisville native and a member of St. Bernadette Parish. He has been teaching eighth grade in G.I.F.T (The Archdiocese of Louisville presented him with the Roncalli Award which recognizes excellence in catechesis). His presentation style is a combination of motivation, storytelling, fun and growing in our Catholic faith. He has presented at missions, retreats and church events throughout Kentucky and beyond. Centenary United Methodist
The youth fellowship will meet at 5 p.m. on Friday at the church to leave for their Winter Blitz returning on Sunday at 1 p.m. The message for Sunday services is taken from the book of 1 Corinthians 12th chapter, "Okay... So Which Of Us Is the Spleen?" Fifth Sunday Offering for the United Methodist Children's Home will be received at both services. The Upper Room Prayer Group will meet from 8 to 10 p.m. on Tuesday at the church. Chancel Choir will begin their Wednesday practice at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday. The community is invited to attend a study developed by Pastor Rick Warren's home church, Saddleback, in California, titled “What is the Daniel Plan? This study helps people explore the spiritual and health benefits of pursuing a healthy lifestyle. Several weeks will be needed to discuss five topics: faith, food, fitness, focus and friends. The study offers two different groups, which will meet every other Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. starting Wednesday, other dates to be published. The first session for both groups will be an introductory session to learn what the study is all about.  Other Daniel Plan resources available are devotional books, cookbooks and exercise videos, etc. Kids Korner has been cancelled this month.

The church is collecting used hearing-aid batteries, box tops, Campbell’s labels, eyeglasses, plastic bags from Kroger, Walmart, etc., coupons either current or expired, canceled postage stamps, pop tops from aluminum cans for mission projects.
