Two Shelbyville brothers have been arrested and charged with robbing  a married couple at gunpoint in December

Iran W. Dixon, 38, and Lafah K. Dixon, 35, were arrested Wednesday and charged with first-degree robbery.

A Shelbyville Police report said that at 10 p.m. Dec. 26, the pair stopped a married couple that was driving though the parking lot of an apartment complex on Baker Drive. The couple had just left a Christmas party.

Iran Dixon had flagged the couple down and approached their vehicle and asked them if they would be interested in buying some merchandise cheap, the report said. When they declined, Lafah Dixon pulled out a handgun and told the couple that “he wanted everything they had.”

Shelbyville Police Department spokesperson Kelly Cable said that detectives had been working on the crime since the couple reported it and on Wednesday arrested the Dixons on Arbor Pointe Drive.

The brothers are lodged at the Shelby County Detention Center under a $100,000 cash bond apiece.
