Burks Branch Easter events

Easter events at Burks Branch Baptist Church include Good Friday service and meal at 6 p.m. Friday, Easter egg hunt at 3 p.m. Saturday. A donation of filled eggs will be appreciated. Easter Sunrise service and breakfast at 7 a.m. on Sunday, followed with Sunday school at 9:50 a.m. and worship at 11. The Women on Mission will have a cake sale at the Good Friday Service Meal, proceeds going to the Easter Offering. Located at 2023 Fox Run Road.

Centenary United Methodist

Centenary United Methodist Church will have a Maundy Thursday Service 7 p.m. Also there will be a Good Friday Service at 7 p.m. The church office will be closed on Good Friday.

Sunrise at Centennial

Sunrise services begin at 8 a.m., followed by breakfast. Located at 808 Heinsville Road in Christiansburg.

Christiansburg Easter musical

There will be a Sunrise Service Easter Sunday at 7 a.m. at Christiansburg Baptist Church. A continental breakfast will be served following the service. The Easter musical, “The Day He Wore My Crown” will be presented by the choir at 11 a.m. Easter Sunday.

Easter Sunrise on Clay Street

Easter sunrise services will begin at 6 a.m. at Clay Street Baptist Church with the message delivered by Rev. Charles Aina.

Egg hunt at Cropper

There will be an Easter Egg hunt on Saturday at Cropper Baptist Church, bring in candy for this event. There will be a sunrise service at 8 a.m. on Easter Sunday.

Dover host candlelight service

Good Friday worship will include candlelight service at 7 p.m. on Friday at Dover Baptist Church. The message will be He chose the nails, with lots of inspirational music, messages, Lord's Supper and Candlelight. Everyone welcome. Extravaganza, Easter egg hunt, a special hunt with preschoolers, and another area hunt for first through sixth grades will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday with more than 500 eggs. Everyone is welcome, bring your own basket. All church fellowship with light refreshments will be at 9:15 a.m. Easter Sunday. The adult choir will present their Easter Musical and Rev. Ben Early will bring a challenging message.

Egg hunt at Elmburg

An Easter Egg hunt will begin at 6 p.m. on Friday at Elmburg Baptist Church, followed by a youth fundraiser meal for church camp fees. Sunrise Service will begin at 7 a.m. on Easter Sunday, followed by a potluck breakfast. Sunday School will begin at 9 a.m. and the Easter Worship Service will begin at 10 a.m.Located at 11307 Elmburg Road.

Easter service and egg hunt at Finchville Baptist

Good Friday service will be at 7 p.m. Friday at Finchville Baptist Church. Sunrise service and Easter breakfast will be at 7 a.m. on Saturday. Easter service will be at 9 and 11 a.m. There will be no Connect groups on Easter. The greatest egg hunt in the county, Eggstravaganza, complete with a light lunch and super prizes will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Finchville Park. Located at 5270 Taylorsville Road. We now have 10,000 eggsto provide lots of fun for those in the hunt.

Last Supper observed at First Baptist

Doors will open at 6 p.m. on Thursday for the Seder/Last Supper observance at First Baptist Shelbyville Church. Families are encouraged to eat a full meal before attending, as Passover/Last Supper portions will be limited. No childcare will be available as the event is a family-oriented festival celebrating the Exodus Old Testament book. Various music and speakers will explain the Seder's significance in modern-day worship. Good Friday the offices will be closed in observance of the Holy Day. Easter Sunday will be observed with two services, 8:30 and 11 a.m. "Proclaiming the Risen Lord!" Matthew 28:6, led by Dr. Maurice Hollingsworth, senior pastor.

First Christian journey

Visit the Stations of the Cross, a self guided Lenten journey to the cross through scripture, prayer, meditation, music and art, from 6 to 7 p.m. Maundy Thursday at First Christian Church. The Maundy Thursday service is 7 p.m. Located at 60 Disciples Way (formerly 1000 Eminence Pike).

Highland services

Easter services at Highland Baptist Church include Thursday Maundy Service at 6:30 p.m.; Good Friday Service at 6:30 p.m.; Block Party and Easter Egg Hunt 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday; Sunrise Service at 7:15 a.m. Sunday, no evening service. Located at 511 Mount Eden Road. 

Easter sunrise at New Covenant

New Covenant Church will have an Easter sunrise service at 7 a.m. Regular service will be at 9 a.m. Joseph Humphrey Jr. is the pastor. Located at 630 Mack Walter Road.

Sunrise at Pleasant View

Pleasant View Baptist Church will be having their Easter sunrise service at 7 a.m. on Sunday. Everyone is welcome.

Rockbridge services

Easter Sunrise Service at Rockbridge United Methodist Church will begin at 7 a.m. on Sunday (outside, weather permitting). The message will be Rolling the Stone Away, March 16:1-7. A potluck breakfast will follow the service. Easter worship, Lingering In The Moment, from John 20:1-18, will begin at 11 a.m. Everyone is invited. Located at 5317 Rockbridge Rd., at the intersection of Rockbridge and KY-714 (Hempridge Road).

Salem hosts Easter egg hunt

Salem Baptist Church will host a community-wide Easter egg hunt at 4 p.m. on Saturday at the church. There will also be a devotional, craft project with a sandwich and chip supper following. Sunrise service is at 8:30 a.m., held outside (weather permitting). Coffee, doughnuts, milk, juice, etc. will be served afterward. Easter Sunday service includes Sunday School at 10 a.m. and Easter service at 11.

Simpsonville Christian services

A community Maundy Thursday service will be at 7 p.m. at Simpsonville Christian Church with Ric Holladay preaching.  A Community Good Friday service will be 7 p.m. at Simpsonville United Methodist Church, Joey Pusateri Preaching.  A Community Sunrise Service will begin at 7 a.m. at the Simpsonville United Methodist Church. Easter Sunday’s message is from John 20:1-18 at 10:50 a.m. Located on the corner of U.S. 60 and Old Veechdale Road.

Simpsonville UMC services

Easter services at Simpsonville United Methodist Church include Maundy Thursday at 7 p.m. at Simpsonville Christian Church; Good Friday service is 7 p.m. at Simpsonville United Methodist Church; and Easter Sunrise service is 7 a.m. at Simpsonville United Methodist Church; and our Easter Celebration at 10:45 a.m. You are invited to join us for all of these services.

St. James services

Good Friday service is at 7 p.m. Eucharist is 10 a.m. on Easter Sunday, and childcare is available. An egg hunt follows the service in the garden for the young ones.

Bunny day at Red Orchard

Mark your calendars for the fourth annual Bunny Day at Red Orchard Park from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday. We will have games, an egg hunt and a visit from the Easter Bunny. Egg hunts start at 11:15 a.m. My Home Place, the Clear Creek Trailblazers and the FAC front desk stuffed thousands of eggs. Shelby Prevention and Fairbourn Family Dentistry donated the prizes and bunny support. It’s going to be a hoping good time!
