There will be a choral concert at 1st Presbyterian Church, 629 Main Street in Shelbyville, at 3 p.m. on July 31. The concert will be presented by the Lascito Coro, a choir composed of the alumni of Sacred Heart Academy and The Louisville Youth Choir.  This choir is the only classic, all-female adult choir in the metro area.  They not only fill an unmet artistic need, but also utilize the choral art form to continue to demonstrate throughout Kentuckiana the Sacred Heart core values.

Lascito Coro rehearses once a week for eight weeks from the end of May through the first part of July followed by three Sunday afternoon concerts.  There is no audition for membership. There will be a free will offering taken at each concert with the proceeds going fully to the Louisville Youth Choir scholarship fund for students in the fall.  Lascito Coro is in its 9th season.

The performance repertoire will include classic women's choir choral standards of both sacred and secular texts, with additional contemporary favorites and multi-cultural selections. The Lascito Coro is directed by Terri E. Foster and accompanied by Tom Seacat. The Louisville Youth Choir begins its 50th season with these concerts and is annually comprised of more than 100 singers from the Louisville area and six surrounding counties.
