‘Dead is dead (period)’

-A A +A

From June 25 – July 9, the KHSAA dead period is in effect for all high school athletics. What does this mean?

By Les Abbott

The dead period is upon us, for those who don’t know the dead period is a period where coaches may not have any in-person contact with recruits and/or their parents. Players will also not be allowed to visit schools for private workouts. The period lasts from June 25 until July 9 and is effective for players from grades 6-12.

The period gives a chance for players to have some time for themselves before returning to a hectic athletic schedule.
