    13 players make all-district

    Nine players from Collins High School and four from Shelby County High School have been named to the Class 4-A, District 4 all-district team by the Greater Louisville Football Coaches Association.

    Friday night was a special night in Clay County, just not for the Shelby County boys’ basketball team.

    Former Clay County High School star Richie Farmer and legendary Coach Bobby Keith were inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame as part of the Bobby Keith Classic, which was broadcast on local television. Then the Tigers routed the Rockets, 85-64.

    Visiting Bullitt East outscored the Rockets 27-9 in the first quarter on its way to a 94-56 victory at Mike Casey Gymnasium.

    The Titans fell behind early at Danville on Friday night, closed to five points by halftime before a clunker of a third quarter dropped Collins to 0-3 away from home with a 60-43 loss.

    And after the Lady Titans’ 45-35 victory at Spencer County on Monday night, they’re now setting their sights on the top spot.
