While there, Hicks averaged about 18-20 points per game and made the camp’s top 20 and played in its all-star game, in which he posted 11 points and eight rebounds.

  • Colonels nip Shelby in OT

After five ties during the regular season, including a scoreless one against Oldham County, it’s only fitting the SCHS boys soccer team would need extra time in the 16th District Tournament on Tuesday.

But the extra session wasn’t kind to the Rockets (9-4-5, 2-1-2 in the district), who fell. 2-1. in overtime to the Colonels (8-9-2, 3-1-1) in the semifinals at South Oldham.

Is Darryl Hicks going to North Oldham or not?

There hasn’t been a topic this hot in the county since the Colonel’s secret recipe turned up.

As an eighth-grader last season, Hicks played varsity basketball at Shelby County High School and averaged 7.7 points and 4.6 rebounds as an integral part of the team.

This summer Hicks’ profile on the national scene exploded with his work at the Freshman 150 camp at the University of Kentucky and his AAU team’s adidas Super64 national title in Las Vegas.
