Lauren Patton, a current student at Shelby County High School, has been accepted to the class of 2020 at the University of the Cumberlands. Located in Williamsburg, University of the Cumberlands is an institution of regional distinction, which currently offers four undergraduate degrees in more than 40 major fields of study. The Wilson’s Phalarope is rarely seen in spring and autumn west of the Cumberland Plateau although it has been seen in eastern Kentucky.
They are seen along shorelines and mudflats of flooded fields and along lakes and rivers and have been seen as early as March 30 and as late as May 28 in the spring and as early as July 3 and as late as Sept. 28 in autumn.
Roanna Lynn Bolin of Louisville announces the birth of her second child, a daughter, on Nov. 2, 2015 at Baptist East Hospital. She has been named Laila Lynn Pierce. Her older sister is Laci Lynn, 7. She was born at 9:02 p.m., weighing 7 pounds and 5 ounces and 19 inches long.

At 12-1 the Shelby County High School football team has made a statement all year long that they are a good football team and Friday night they added an exclamation point with a 44-14 rout of John Hardin in the Region 2 finals.
