Schools accountability

Todd Martin’s article on Southside Elementary and the county’s low-scoring schools (“Southside, low-scoring schools working to improve,” Nov. 28) points out just how out of touch Shelby County Public Schools Superintendent James Neihof is with the school system he runs. To describe the scores as “surprising” is amazing. He should have anticipated the scores and already had improvement plans in place.

This is no party

In response to Bill Young’s response to John Shindlebower’s comments on the recent election (“How nation responded to election,” Letters to the editor, Nov. 21): I know Mr. Young and think he is a fine man, but his passion for his party appears to have skewed his perception of reality.  Space would not allow a rebuttal to all his inaccuracies, but some of his comments shouldn’t go unchallenged.

Proud of Kentucky

The majority of the citizens of this commonwealth saw the national election and its many issues as I saw them. This must be the case because they felt the present administration did not in the past address the over-riding important issues as they promised. The majority of their votes reflected this clearly.
