Titans boys’ golf team fairs well at Flyer Classic
The Martha Layne Collins boys’ golf team is competing in the 12th Annual Flyer Classic Hosted by Franklin County High School. After one round of play, Collins is in 10th place out of 24 teams with a 318.
Cornerstone Christian Academy will open on Aug. 16 with a few more students and a lot more to offer them.
During the summer, the school has received three generous donations that are helping expand educational opportunities at the small private school east of Shelbyville.
"We put our desires and needs out there mainly by word of mouth and through our school board, and we have a great group of generous benefactors that want to see us continue to grow," Headmaster David Ladner said.
Tucked away in the silver vault at Wakefield-Scearce, they come out just once a year.
Shuttled to the Shelby County Fair Grounds, the 20 Shelbyville Horse Show perpetual trophies are put on display for one night, handed to their respective winners and then quickly taken back to the vault and locked away until their chance to shine the next year.
