  • Golf: Rockets close out match season

    The SCHS boys’ golf team battled Collegiate and the rain Tuesday in the team’s final match of the regular season, and the Rockets got the better of both.

    Shelby hammered Collegiate, 150-215, setting the mark for the team’s best match score of the year.

    Josh Griffin led the Rockets again, this time shooting an even-par 36. Behind him were a tightly grouped set of Tayler Adams 37, Turner Mayton 38 and Jared Redmon 39. It was the first time this year the Rockets’ finished a match with all four players in the 30s.

  • Masonic Home named tops in district, finalist in state

    Masonic Home of Shelbyville is one of five in the state competing for the honor of Facility of the Year.

    Last week the Kentucky Association of Health Care Facilities named Masonic Home the best in its central district, which qualifies it automatically for the statewide award, which will be announced Nov. 12.

  • Boys soccer: Rain postpones tournament play

    Shelby County still is waiting to play its first match in Bulldog Classic in Louisville.

    Rain postponed the first two games, and now Coach B.J. Andriot says the team is hopeful of playing Christian Academy Louisville tonight at 6 at the St. Xavier field. “It’s a turf field, so I think we’ll play,” he said.
