The Shelby County boys’ basketball team got buried under a torrent of 3-pointers Tuesday night.
Host Christian Academy of Louisville hit nine of them on its way to an 82-53 victory over the Rockets.
And the first one the Centurions hit was the biggest. Leading Shelby County, 16-9, with 3 seconds to go in the first quarter, CAL quickly moved the ball to midcourt, where Ivan Talley buried a buzzer-beating three.
“That took a little out of our sails, and it was downhill from there,” Rockets Coach Rick Parsons said.
