    Jones graduates from KSU
    Tracy B. Jones graduated cum laude from Kentucky State University with a bachelor of arts in business administration, with a specialization in Accounting.  Jones is a 2008 graduate of Shelby County High School, the daughter of Cecil and Jody Jones and the granddaughter of Rosa Jones all of Simpsonville.

    Shelby County High School’s academic team won the district competition and will compete in the regional competition.   • Fine 4th quarter advances Titans

    NEW CASTLE – A rock-solid fourth quarter and Brian Stone's perfect shooting night propelled the Collins boys’ basketball team into the 8th Region Tournament semifinals.

    The Titans, who trailed South Oldham by one point entering the final period of their first round 8th Region Tournament game Wednesday night, outscored the Dragons, 21-14, during the last eight minutes – to go along with a 12-for-12 shooting performance from Stone – on their way to a 69-63 victory at the Henry County High School Gym.

  • Running star Karas to sign with Xavier

    Collins senior runner Caterina Karas, a 3-time state champion, will sign to continue her running career with Xavier University at 4 p.m. Monday in the high school’s library.

    Karas captured the girls’ Class 2A state cross-country title in the fall of 2010, then won the 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs at last spring’s state track & field meet. She finished second to her younger sister, Gabby, at the 2011 state cross-country meet and figures to make a run at more state titles this spring.
