No one was injured in a fire at the corner of College and 9th streets Monday, thanks to the quick thinking of a bystander.
Stefano Elzy, 25, said he saw smoke and flames coming from the residence and went to see if someone was inside.
"I was afraid people were in there," he said.
A neighbor, Mary Thompson, said Elzy kicked the door in and brought out two adults, who were both O.K., she said.
The structure, a duplex, caught fire at about 11:30 a.m.
