Citing insufficient evidence, District Judge Linda Armstrong on Thursday dismissed without prejudice a felony charge of theft against Roy T. Bailey Jr., in conjunction with the auto sales business.

A criminal complaint filed by Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputy Fred Rothenburger was served on Bailey, 45, on Oct. 31, charging him with theft by failure to make required disposition of property, according to court records.

A Shelby County man who is a convicted sex offender has been arrested and charged with several offenses, one of them a felony, relating to distributing obscene matter to a minor using social media. 

Anthony T. Bradford, 41, was arrested Monday and charged with being aregistered sex offender who has been prohibited from using social-networking Web site, Internet messaging or chat room programs used by minors;, distributing obscene matter to a minor, both misdemeanors, and prohibited use of electronic communication to procure a minor, a Class D felony.

TAYLORSVILLE – Susan Jean King, the Mount Eden woman who served time for the 1998 murder of a Shelbyville man, was released from prison two weeks ago, and her attorneys have filed an appeal in an effort to get a new trial.

King, 52, was indicted on murder charges for the death of Kyle “Deanie” Breeden in April 2007. Two months after the initial indictment, a grand jury also charged King with tampering with physical evidence.

On the fourth anniversary of the death of James Duckett, his murder case is undergoing a new surge of investigation, detectives say.
