  • Shelby County Grand Jury Indictments

    Dan S. Bruner, 39, of 13139 Kentucky St. No. 49, was indicted for second-degree assault.

    Trevor W. Riley, 19, of 5169 Cedarmore Road in Pleasureville was indicted for third-degree burglary, theft by unlawful taking $500 or more but less than $10,000, first-degree criminal mischief, criminal littering and second-degree criminal trespassing.

    Colin R. Dunaway, 21, of 1603 Bonnie Brae Drive was indicted for second-degree burglary and theft by unlawful taking, over $500 but under $10,000.

  • Clerk injured in liquor store robbery

    Four people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at Paradise Spirits & Fine Wine in which a clerk was injured, police said.

    Medea Clark, 21, of Westview, Ky., Dakota Aldridge, 23, of Mount Eden, Travis Dobbs, 22, of Simpsonville and Zachary Husband, 22, of Pleasureville, are all charged with first-degree robbery.

    According to Shelbyville Police, they all participated in the robbery, which occurred at 9:18 p.m. Tuesday night.

  • Crime stoppers seek info on theft

    Police are asking for the public’s help in obtaining information about a theft at Rural King Friday.

    At 11:30 a.m., a white male entered the store and removed an Arc Welder without paying for it, said Shelbyville Police. The subject is described as being in his mid- twenties to early thirties, with a short brown beard. He loaded the arc welder into a white Crown Victoria vehicle and left the scene.

    Derek A. Richardson, 35, of 1479 Hanna Road was indicted for first-degree wanton endangerment (3 counts), third-degree terroristic threatening (2 counts), carrying a concealed deadly weapon, resisting arrest, menacing and third-degree criminal mischief.

    Eddie R. Davis, 57, of 2823 Elmburg Road was indicted for planting, cultivating, or harvesting marijuana with intent to transfer or sell (5 plants or more) and trafficking in marijuana (more than 8 ounces, but less than 5 pounds).

    DUI

    Jorge Luis Garcia-Garcia, 45, of 2568 Waddy Road was arrested Oct. 24 on I-64 and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, first offense, no operator’s license and careless driving.

  • Two arrested after police chase

    A police chase that began with a vehicle and ended up on foot has culminated in two arrested, the driver of the car and a 17-year old passenger.

    Simpsonville Police Chief Chip Minnis said that Simpsonville Police Officer Daniel Wills was on his way home Wednesday afternoon when he spotted a car traveling at a high rate of speed on the Shelbyville Bypass.

    “When he began to pursue the vehicle, he [driver] started going even faster and he [Wills] got him to stop,” he said. “Then the passenger baled out of the car and took off running.”
