  • Shelby County Sheriff Reports June 25, 2014

    DUI

    David W. Grider Jr., 25, of 931 Brentwood Ave. in Louisville was arrested May 9 on Lee Nor Mack St. and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, second offense, reckless driving, driving on a DUI suspended license, first offense and failure to wear a seat belt.

    Theft

    Bobby J. Hurst, 24, of 1200 Murphy Lane in Mount Eden was arrested May 11 on Taylorsville Road at Walmart and charged with theft by unlawful taking (shoplifting) under $500.

    Sabrina L. Wright, 41, of 1718 Lakeside Drive was arrested May 10 on Taylorsville Road at Walmart and charged with theft by unlawful taking (shoplifting) under $500.

    Sarah M. Trowbridge, 20, of 533 Hoagland Hills Road in Mount Washington was arrested May 9 on Taylorsville Road at Walmart and charged with theft by unlawful taking (shoplifting) under $500.

    DUI

    Matthew White, 31, of 995 Waddy Road was arrested April 24 on Shelbyville Road and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, first offense, rear license not illuminated and no license in possession.

    Jacob McCoy, 22, of 206 Morningside Drive in Lawrenceburg was arrested April 27 on I-64 and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, second offense, speeding, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

  • Man arrested for stalking woman

    A Shelbyville man has been arrested and charged with stalking.

    Roy L. McClease, 62, of 73 Clover Lane, was arrested June 11 and charged with stalking a 30-year old woman.

    A police report said when officers got to the woman’s home on Cardinal Drive, McClease had already fled the scene, but that the woman told officers he had been coming to her home for the past four days, asking her if she “wanted company.”

    Chrishandra Marie Murphy, 38, of 6615 Buckcreek Road in Finchville was arrested June 10 at Sanford and Seven Oaks roads and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol, third offense and speeding.

  • No injuries in Simpsonville crash, but cleanup extends for 2 days

    No one was injured in a single vehicle crash Sunday afternoon on I-64 in Simpsonville, but the crash shut down the interstate until at least midnight, and even when the roadway opened, it was down to one lane, officials said.

    The delay was from the huge clean up effort after a 2011 Freightliner tractor-trailer crashed near mile marker 29 in Simpsonville and overturned, police said.

  • Crime stoppers seeks info on counterfeit checks

    Crime stoppers are asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect who is wanted in connection with trying to cash counterfeit checks.

    On May 21, a man described as a white male, who appeared to be from 40 to 50 years old, presented counterfeit checks to multiple banks in Shelby County.

    The man is betweem 5-foot,10-inches and 6-foot, two-inches in height, with an average build, and long dark hair pulled into a ponytail and wearing a moustache.

    Jacob Baker, first-offense DUI – guilty  – eight days home incarceration program, operator's license suspended for 30 days and $728 fine and costs.

  • Cemetery caretaker arrested on more charges of selling bogus plots

    A cemetery caretaker arrested in February for theft of cemetery property, and indicted in April on two felony charges in connection with that arrest, now has been arrested again on an additional four charges, police say.

    Gerald Kincaid Jr., 30, of Elmburg Road in Bagdad was arrested May 22 on one count of theft by failure to make required disposition of property, two counts of theft by deception more than $500 but less than $10,000 (including cold checks) and one count of theft (auto) $500 or more, but less than $10,000.
