A Shelby County man was killed Friday in a head-on collision on Cropper Road, an accident that also sent another man to the hospital.
Shelby County Sheriff’s Detective Maj. Jason Rice said that Joseph Robertson, 88, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident and that John Miller, 49, of Louisville was airlifted to the University of Kentucky, where he was listed in fair condition Tuesday.
Shelbyville Police are asking for the public’s help in a recent shoplifting that occurred at Rural King. They have provided video surveillance shots of a person with a shopping cart and also a photo of a car in the parking lot.

A jury trial that had been scheduled for Monday for a former Shelby County Public Schools payroll manager charged with embezzling more than a half million dollars has been moved to August.
Benita Anglin, who was arrested in August 2014 two days after she was indicted for embezzling hundreds of thousands from the school district, has had all her pretrial conferences and was ready for trial, but a conflict in court scheduling necessitated moving the trial to Aug. 20, said her attorney, Matt Pippin.
A criminal charge against the former manager of the Old Stone Inn involving selling alcoholic beverages without a license has been put on hold temporarily.
Shelley Thompson had a court appearance Thursday in Shelby District Court on the charge, but District Judge J.R. RoBards agreed to move the hearing to a latter date, which has not been set yet, to allow Thompson’s attorney, Bill Stewart, to deal with another, more pressing, matter pertaining to the Inn first.
