    DUI

    Jesse D. Frost, 34, of 132 The Masters in Georgetown was arrested March 13 on I64 and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol, first offense, speeding, reckless driving and operating a vehicle with an expired license.

    Aaron Jameson Eubank, 32, of 702 Greenwood Court was arrested Feb. 27 at 1185 Main St. and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol, first offense, and first-degree wanton endangerment.

    No one was injured in two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon at 4:45 on the Shelbyville Bypass. Access to the Bypass from outbound La Grange Road is expected to be blocked until about 6 p.m.

  • Police seek suspect in shooting of mail trucks

    Shelbyville Police are asking for the public’s help in collecting information on who is responsible for vandalism of mail carrier trucks over the weekend.

    “Sometime between five-thirty [p.m.] Saturday and four a.m. on Monday, it appears that somebody shot windows of five vehicles parked on the lot with what appears to be a BB gun – that’s what it looks like at this point,” said Maj. Istvan Kovacks with the Shelbyville Police Department.

  • Putnam arraigned in circuit court

    Terry Putnam, the Simpsonville Police officer arrested Jan. 7 in connection with the November robbery of the police department, was arraigned Monday in Shelby Circuit Court and given a new court date of May 2.

    At that time, he, or his attorney, Brian Butler, will appear in court for a disposition hearing.

    Putnam’s arraignment was to transfer his case from Shelby District to Shelby Circuit Court, a routine procedure after a case has been indicted by a grand jury, as Putnam’s was March 7.

  • Shelby County man dies in crash

    A Shelby County man was killed Friday in a head-on collision on Cropper Road, an accident that also sent another man to the hospital.

    Shelby County Sheriff’s Detective Maj. Jason Rice said that Joseph Robertson, 88, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident and that John Miller, 49, of Louisville was airlifted to the University of Kentucky, where he was listed in fair condition Tuesday.
