  • Shelbyville Police Reports May 1, 2013

    DUI

    Jaime Ixpertay, 30, of 1522 Cherry Lane was arrested April 19 at 8th Street and Bland Avenue and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol under aggravating circumstances, first offense, no operator’s license, leaving the scene of an accident and possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a vehicle.

  • Shelbyville man charged with sodomy of child

    A Shelbyville man arrested in connection with a sex crime against a child could have more charges to follow, police say.

    Joshua S. Nation, 30, of 471 Midland Blvd. was arrested Monday at his residence and charged with first-degree sodomy of a child under 12 years old.

    The police report states that the 11-year-old victim told police that she had been sodomized orally on at least three occasions since April 1. Consequently, Shelbyville Police Chief Danny Goodwin said that more charges could follow pertaining to the same victim.

  • Head-on collision injures Pleasureville couple

    A Pleasureville couple was taken to the University of Louisville Wednesday morning after being involved in a head-on crash on Cropper Road.

    Shelby County Deputy Sheriff Gerald Wooldridge said that Wanda and Richard Watts, both in their 50s, were traveling eastbound on Cropper Road, and Stacy Johnson, 27, of Shelbyville was traveling westbound a couple of hundred yards west of the intersection of Bagdad Road and Cropper Road at 7:15 a.m., when Johnson’s vehicle began to hydroplane because of heavy rain.

  • No one injured in drive-by shooting on 10th Street

    Shelbyville Police say they are investigating persons of interest in a drive-by shooting at Bland Avenue and 10th Street Monday night.

    Shelbyville Police Chief Danny Goodwin said that shortly before midnight, someone fired shots from a tan SUV, striking and penetrating a house at 619 10th St.

  • Shelbyville man arrested in beating of girlfriend

    A Shelbyville man who is charged with second-degree assault in the beating of his girlfriend was arrested Tuesday after fleeing from police, Shelby County Sheriff's Det. Jason Rice said.

    Rice said Ronnie Palmer, 37, got into an argument with his girlfriend Monday at their home on Mill Circle Road and the argument became physical. The couple went to Jewish Hospital Shelbyville.

    DUI

    Kevin E. Cain, 18, of 106 Chambers Lane in Simpsonville was arrested Feb. 25 on Conner Station Road and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of intoxicants (drugs), reckless driving, not wearing a seatbelt and possession of drug paraphernalia.

    Jeremy McGaughey, theft by unlawful taking/shoplifting – pleaded guilty – $304 fine and costs.

  • Suit against Robert Myles dismissed in Anderson

    A lawsuit filed against Shelby County resident and part-time City of Lawrenceburg attorney Robert W. Myles was dismissed Tuesday in Anderson Circuit Court but is expected to be refiled in Shelby Circuit Court.

    The lawsuit claimed that a security agreement created in 2004 by Myles for a Shelby County couple was inadequate for the couple to recoup more than $100,000 from the sale of livestock and other items on a 3-year balloon payment.

  • Shelby County Grand Jury Indictments: April 18, 2013

    Gregory Marshall, 58, of 110 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Carson D. Holland, 38, of 315 Sulpher Ave. in Eminence were indicted for possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) complicity, tampering with physical evidence, complicity, second-degree possession of a controlled substance (hydrocodone), possession of drug paraphernalia, complicity, resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance no in original container, giving a false name or address to a peace officer and being a persistent felony offender.
