    Randy K. Bowlin, second-offense DUI – plead guilty – 20-day sentence, serve 7 days, balance conditionally discharged for 2 years, operator's license suspended for 12 months and $878 fine and costs.

  • Shelby County Sheriff Reports, Nov. 23, 2012

    DUI

    Timothy McQuillen, 52, of 1306 Buck Creek Road in Simpsonville was arrested Nov. 4 at U.S. 60 and Old Veechdale Road and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, driving on a DUI suspended license and careless driving.

  • Shelbyville Police Reports Nov. 21, 2012

    Assault

    Marvin Aguilar, 32, of 704 Shelby Hall Drive was arrested Nov. 12 at that address and charged with fourth-degree assault (domestic violence).

    Timothy W. Stone, 39, of 60 Zena’s Court was arrested Nov. 11 at that address and charged with fourth-degree assault (domestic violence).

    Tommie L. Delaney Jr., 24, of 309 Glenview Drive was arrested Nov. 16 at 705 Indian Ridge and charged with fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) and violation of a Kentucky EPO/DVO.

     

  • Court report: November 19, 2012

    District court

    The following cases were heard by Judge Donna Dutton:

    Bobbie Wayne Brown, second-degree disorderly conduct and alcohol intoxication in a public place – guilty – $393 fine and costs.

    Roberto Cortez, first-degree criminal trespassing – guilty – 60-day sentence conditionally discharged for two years and $154 costs.

    Amy C. May, six charges of theft by deception – guilty – $183 fine and costs.

  • Bailey arraigned on theft charges

    Roy T. Bailey Jr., the baseball coach at Collins High School, was arraigned Tuesday on a felony theft charge related to an automobile sales business he owns.

    Bailey, who appeared with his attorney, Mark Dean, pleaded not guilty to the charge before District Judge Donna Dutton, who recused herself from the case.

    Bailey was given a court date of Dec. 6 at 1 p.m. before District Judge Linda Armstrong.

  • Shelby County Grand Jury Indictments Nov. 14, 2012

    Brittney N. Shuck, 24, of 1642 Woodlawn Road was indicted for theft by unlawful taking, complicity.

    Zachary Calvert, 22, of 636 10th St. was indicted for second-degree assault.

    Stacy Johnson, 27, of 595 Heinsville Road was indicted for attempting to obtain a controlled substance by fraud/false statement, second-degree illegal possession of a controlled substance (hydrocodone), and operating a motor vehicle without an operator’s license.

  • Shelbyville Police Reports Nov. 14, 2012

    Theft

    James A. Wehrley, 20, of 460 Setters Point Drive in Taylorsville was arrested Oct. 27 at 22 Village Plaza and charged with theft by unlawful taking (shoplifting.

    Albert E. Gordon, 37, of 1018 Main St. No. 4 was arrested Oct. 25 at 303 Main St. and charged with theft by unlawful taking and second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument (identity).

  • Suspect sought in theft at Ferrell’s

    Police are asking for the public’s help in solving a theft that happened on Oct. 29 at Ferrell’s Heating and Air Conditioning, located in the 6000 block of Frankfort Road, in Clay Village. 

    Sheriff’s detectives said they believe this suspect has hit this location once before, and on this occasion

    the subject appeared to steal several gallons of gas from multiple vehicles located on the property.  The suspect exited the property towards Franklin County on U.S. 60. 

  • Suspects sought in burglary

    Police are asking for the public’s help in gaining information about a burglary that occurred at the J’s Gas & Food Mart in Simpsonville.

    On Nov. 1 at around 2 a.m., two white males in a maroon vehicle used a pitchfork to break into the business, scarring the glass door before breaking it.

    District court

    The following cases were heard by Judge Donna Dutton:

    Jennifer Bocelli, no/expired registration plates, no/expired Kentucky registration receipt and first-offense failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security – guilty – $683 fine and costs.

    Keith D. Brooks, speeding 16 mph over limit and first-offense failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security – guilty – insurance monitoring for 12 months and $675 fine and costs, $400 conditionally discharged.
