  • Shelbyville Police Reports June 24, 2009

    DUI and Traffic-Related  

    Richard A. Graham, 45, of 226 Depot Street in Bloomfield, Ky. was arrested Thursday at U.S. 60 and Old Finchville Road and charged with DUI first offense and possession of an open alcoholic beverage container.

    John R. Patton, 51, of 607 Matterhorn Drive in Shelbyville was arrested Thursday at 5th and Main Street and charged with DUI first offense and careless driving.

  • Shelbyville Police Reports July 15, 2009

     

    DUI  

    Shane F. Timothy, 25, of 6557 Clays Mill Road in Lexington was arrested Sunday on I-64, eastbound, at the 32-mile marker, and charged with DUI, first offense and improper use of left lane-overtaking vehicle.

      Alcohol Intoxication  

    Jamie Ramerez, 29, of  Shelbyville was arrested Saturday at 123 Henry Clay Street and charged with alcohol intoxication.

  • Shelby County man going to prison for shooting at police

    A Shelby County man was sentenced Tuesday to 201 months in a federal penitentiary for firing shots at a police officer in an apartment in Shelbyville last fall.  

    Calvin R. Morgan, 21, of Shelbyville was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Danny C. Reeves to serve 57 months (4.75 years) for  being an illegal user of marijuana in possession of a firearm and 12 years for the use and discharge of a firearm during a drug-trafficking crime.

  • Crash closes road

     Interstate 64 just east of Shelbyville has reopened following a one-vehicle accident at about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

    No one was seriously injured in the accident at the 36.5-mile marker on the Westbound side, which left the vehicle upside down in the median and its driver suspended by his seat belts. 

    The driver's name has not been released, but he was transported to Jewish Hospital Shelbyville for observation.

    Westbound lanes of I-64 were closed while the accident was cleared.

  • State Police reports no July 4 fatalities in Post 12

    Statistics just released from the Kentucky State Police on Monday reveal no traffic fatalities over the July 4 holiday weekend in the Post 12 area.

    KSP Trooper Ron Turley said that compared to this same time in 2008, fatal collisions in the Post 12 counties are down by 26 percent and fatalities are down by 32 percent.

    Post 12 encompasses Anderson, Fayette, Franklin, Scott, Shelby, Spencer and Woodford counties.

    DUI and Traffic Related

    Alfredo Escobar-Herrera, 41, of Shelbyville was arrested June 1 at U.S. 60 and Old Finchville Road and charged with no operator’s license and disregarding a traffic light.

    Baldomero Corona-Rosales, 51, of Shelbyville was arrested Wednesday on 7th Street and charged with no operator’s license, no brake lights and no insurance.

  • Shelbyville Police Reports June 3, 2009

    DUI or Traffic-Related

    Anthony Shane Stodghill, 30, of Eminence was arrested Saturday at Highway 53 and Boone Station Road and charged with DUI, no operator’s license, failure to wear a seat belt, disorderly conduct and no operator’s license negligent at the scene of an accident.

    Patricia A. Searcy, 35. of Shelbyville was arrested Sunday on Boone Station Road and charged with DUI and no operator’s license.

  • Crime Stoppers theft from car and shopping cart

    Speakers stolen from vehicle

    Crime Stoppers is asking for information about a theft from a vehicle that occurred between 8 p.m. on June 1 and 2 p.m. on  June 2 at the Cola Commons Apartments at 80 Frankfort Road.

    The suspect forced open the window of the victim’s red Dodge Durango.

    After opening the window, the thief unlocked the rear hatch to gain access to the cargo area.

    The thief then removed two  Edgewood speakers and a

    a 1000-watt power amplifier. Also taken was a homemade speaker box, valued at $700.

    DUI and Traffic-Related  

    Andrew S. Tutor, 37, of 610 Crescent Court in Shelbyville was arrested Tuesday at 1631 Mount Eden Road and charged with DUI, having an open alcoholic-beverage container in the vehicle and no operator's license.

    Juan Jose Ravdales, 45, of 3109 Cherchell Place, No. 120, of Louisville was arrested Tuesday at 8th and Washington Street and charged with no operator's license, no insurance, and two counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument.
