  • Shelbyville Police Reports, Dec. 12, 2012

    DUI

    Kenneth W. Richard, 48, of Main Street was arrested Dec. 4 on Boone Station Road and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs under aggravating circumstances, first offense, failure to wear a seatbelt and careless driving.

     

    Forgery

    Sammy F. Allen Mobley, 37, of 1603 Juniper Drive was served Nov. 27 at the Shelby County Detention Center with a Shelby County warrant for first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.

    Warrants

    Darrell Wayne Pennington Jr., 30, of 1630 Juniper Drive was served Nov. 29 at the Shelby County Detention Center with a Henry County warrant for third-degree burglary and tampering with physical evidence.

    Bobby Branham, 40, of 237 Aspen Way was arrested at 401 Main St. on a Shelby County warrant for an unspecified charge.

    Jeremy Lloyd Blackwell, 31, of 316 Prospect St. No. 2 in Berea was served Nov. 28 at the Shelby County Detention Center with an Anderson County warrant for an unspecified charge.

  • Death investigation continuing in drug overdose

    Shelbyville Police and Kentucky State Police are continuing an investigation into an apparent drug overdose in Osprey Cove subdivision, according to officials.

    Shelby County Deputy Coroner Jeff Ivers said Kevin Lemar Wilson, 42, died of an apparent drug overdose at his residence at 161 Grayhawk Drive.

    Ivers said Wilson’s body was discovered by his girlfriend Saturday night, when she went to check on him because she had not heard from him for a couple of days.

  • Bailey gets new court date

    Roy T. Bailey Jr., the baseball coach at Collins High School, was given a new court date Thursday in Shelby District Court on a felony theft charge related to an automobile sales business he owns.

    Bailey, who appeared with his attorney, Mark Dean, before District Judge Linda Armstrong, was set for a preliminary hearing on Dec. 20 in district court.

    Bailey had pleaded not guilty to the charge Nov. 13 before District Judge Donna Dutton, who recused herself from the case.

  • Shelby County Sheriff Reports, Dec. 5, 2012

    DUI

    William J. Benningfield, 48, of 810 Spring Meadows Drive in Lexington was arrested Nov. 19 on I-64 and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol under aggravating circumstances, first offense and reckless driving.

  • Court date for Bruner moved to next year

    A status hearing for Mark Bruner has been rescheduled for Jan. 7 in Shelby Circuit Court, as well as a jury trial date of March 11.

    Bruner was indicted by a Shelby County Grand Jury on charges of first-degree assault and tampering with physical evidence against him in connection with the beating of Denisse Escareno on Nov. 5, 2011.

    Bruner, 38, of Taylorsville was arrested 10 days after Escareno, 24, was found by passersby brutally beaten, stabbed and barely alive, on the side of Mount Eden Road about 2 miles south of Interstate 64.

  • 1 person slightly injured in I-64 crash Tuesday

    One person received minor injuries in a 1-vehicle crash between Mile Markers 32 and 33 on Interstate 64 at shortly after noon Tuesday.

    A vehicle driven by Andrea Smith of Shelbyville flipped as she was traveling eastbound on I-64. The vehicle came to rest on its side.

    She was taken to Jewish Hospital Shelbyville with non-life-threatening injuries. The cause of the accident is not yet known.

  • Shelby County Grand Jury Indictments, Nov. 30, 2012

    Mark T. Cranmer, 45, of 1082 McFarland Road in Waddy was indicted for failure to comply with the sex offender registration, second offense.

    Jeffrey D. Perry, 38, of 311 Kings Highway in Waddy was indicted for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

    Shawn P. Way, 27, of 1300 Elmburg Road was indicted for first-degree wanton endangerment, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of intoxicants under aggravating circumstances, first offense, failure of owner to maintain required insurance, reckless driving and failure to wear a seatbelt.

  • Shelbyville Police Reports, Nov. 30, 2012

    DUI

    Michael W. Seay, 43, of 118 Nora Ave. was arrested Nov. 20 at Governor’s Square parking lot and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, second offense, careless driving and possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a vehicle.
