  • Shelbyville Police Reports April 26. 2010

    No operator’s license

     

    Jennifer F. Sharp, 35, of city at large in Louisville was arrested April 25 at 1220 Shepherd Way and charged with no operator’s license and giving a false name or address to a police officer.

    She was also served with a Jefferson County bench warrant for cold checks.

    Alcohol Intoxication

     

    Byron Lopez, 23, of 1109 High St. in Shelbyville was arrested April 20 on College Street and charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place, first and second offense.

    Scott D. Hall, 44, of city at large in Shelbyville was arrested April 21 at 1st and Henry Clay Street and charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place, first and second offense.

    Driving Under the Influence

    Norris A. Martin, 28, of 66 Autumn Ridge Drive in Shelbyville was arrested April 15 at Bayne and Midland Trial and charged with DUI, no operator’s license, and reckless driving.

    Richard Contreras, 47, of 109 Nora Ave. in Shelbyville, was arrested April 17 on Taylorsville Road and charged with DUI, first offense, operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license and reckless driving.

  • Incest charges dismissed against local man

    All charges have been dropped against a Shelbyville man who was arrested in April 2008 and charged with incest.

    Roy I. Cissell, 56, of Shelbyville had been charged with four counts of incest with someone under 18 years old after a year-long investigation by the Kentucky State Police.

  • Woman arrested in robbery of pizza delivery man

    Another person has been arrested in connection with the robbery of a Pizza Hut delivery driver, which occurred March 30.

    Angelic Burkhead, 24, of 408 Lynne Acres, was arrested March 31 and incurred the same charge as the three men who are accused of beating a Pizza Hut delivery man and taking his money and pizzas.

  • Officers use simulator to train in use of deadly force

    Sheriff's Deputy Riley Kennedy saved two innocent bystanders from being gunned down last week, disarmed a knife-wielding man in the courtroom and took down a gunman who was holding a gun on his partner. It was all in a day's work, even if it was all in simulation.

    Those scenarios were just a few of the 400 possible situations that officers did their best to overcome in simulation last week.

  • EARLIER: Pizza delivery man robbed

    A Pizza Hut delivery driver was attacked and beaten as he was delivering a pizza to an apartment, police say.

    Brandon H. Manica, 20, Barrica Spencer, 20, and Jason C. Hence, 24, all of Shelbyville, were arrested and charged with second-degree strong-arm robbery Wednesday night.

    A Shelbyville police reports says the three phoned Pizza Hut and ordered a pizza to be delivered to 401 Lynne Acres at about 9:30 p.m.

    Driving under the influence

     

    Darrell D. Perry, 40, of 318 Memorial Drive in Shelbyville was arrested April 2 at Kinser and 9th streets and charged with DUI, disregarding a stop sign and operating an ATV on the roadway.

    Paul L. Dowell, 21, of 506 Carnell Place in Louisville was arrested April 5 at I-64 eastbound at Exit 35 and charged with DUI, first offense.

  • Shelbyville man arrested after taking juvenile girl to Florida

    A Shelbyville man has been arrested in Florida and charged with taking an under-aged girl down there without her parent’s permission, as well as taking his grandmother’s car without her permission.

    Eric A. Shelburne, 28, of 156 Longview Drive, is charged with custodial interference, a Class D felony and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor.
