  • Shelby County Grand Jury Indictments: May 11, 2011

    Erick Arriola-Bautista of 2417 D 7th St. in Louisville was indicted for first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (cocaine).

    Kevin Page Jr. of 4617 Herman St. in Shelbyville was indicted for first-degree wanton endangerment and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

    John Mathis of 1809 Oakwood St. in Shelbyville was indicted for theft by unlawful taking.

    Abel V. Gomez of unknown address was indicted for first-degree rape and first-degree sodomy.

    No one was injured in a single-vehicle accident on I-64 Thursday morning that caused a traffic back up for several hours.

    The accident happened shortly before 10 a.m. and clogged the westbound lane until lunchtime, as only one lane was open to traffic.

    No one was injured in a tumbling, single-vehicle accident on I-64 Thursday morning that caused a traffic backup for several hours.

    The accident occurred shortly before 10 a.m. and clogged the westbound lane between Exit 32 and 35 until noon because only one lane was open to traffic.

    Miguel Gonzalez, 52, of 1649 North 17th Ave. in Melrose Park, Ill., was arrested May 1 at Taylorsville Road and Howard Drive and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs, first offense.

    Jose Juan Carlos Quixan, 24, of 310 Midland Drive in Shelbyville was arrested April 28 on Benson Pike and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs, first offense, no operator’s license and failure to maintain insurance.

    Scott Adrian Dale, 30, of 11515 Willow Stream Court in Louisville was arrested April 9 at Mack Walters at Bridlewood and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, second offense, under aggravating circumstances.

    William A. Goodwin, 23, of 12107 Cropper Road in Pleasureville was arrested April 10 on KY 1790 and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs, first offense.

  • EARLIER: Accused murder Gary Bancroft indicted as persistent felony offender

    LAWRENCEBURG ­– The man suspected of slicing his girlfriend’s throat and stuffing her body into a trash bag last fall was indicted Wednesday as a persistent felony offender, according to documents on file in Anderson Circuit Court.

    Gary Bancroft is charged with first-degree murder and tampering with evidence in the death of Frances Renee Mobley, who was found dead at Bancroft’s residence last September.
