  • Shelby County Sheriff's Reports April 6, 2011

    DUI

     

    Robert W. Jones, 55, of 583 Hawthorne Ave. in Shelbyville was arrested March 28 on Waddy Road and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, first offense and speeding.

     

    Traffic

     

    Duron Campbell, 23, of 28 7th St. in Shelbyville was arrested March 28 on Midland Trail and charged with operating on a suspended or revoked operator's license and possession of a license when privileges are revoked.

  • 5 arrested in drug raid on Brown Ave. in Shelbyville

    Shelbyville Police arrested five people Friday and removed  child from a home Brown Avenue where they found drugs being prepared to be sold.
     

    Officers arrested Dereck Richmond, 20, Chauncy Johnson, 36, Michele Penn, 43, Cheryl Abell, 24 and Casey Abell, 22.

    Johnson and Richmond are charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled (cocaine) and possession of marijuana.

    Penn and Cheryl Abell are charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, and Casey Abell is charged with possession of controlled substance.

    District Court

    The following cases were heard by Judge Linda Armstrong:

    Michael Barnett, alcohol intoxication in a public place, loitering and giving officer false name or address – pleaded guilty – 10-day sentence and $194 fine and costs.

    David G. Donnelly, alcohol intoxication in a public place and third-degree criminal trespassing – pleaded guilty – 5-day sentence.

    Kenneth R. Downey, theft by unlawful taking/shoplifting – pleaded guilty – 12-day sentence and $144 costs.

  • Shelby man arrested on marijuana charges

    A Shelby County man was arrested Wednesday by Kentucky State Police narcotics detectives who were responding to information that he was trafficking marijuana out of his residence on Aiken Road. 
     

    Patrick Moore, 26, was arrested and charged with trafficking in marijuana less than 8 ounces, trafficking within 1,000 yards of a school, first-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

  • Info sought on break-in and vandalism

    Crime Stoppers is seeking information on a break-in where vandalism occurred.

    The incident happened at 500 Midland Blvd., in a neighborhood behind Midland Plaza, where stores such as Tractor Supply are located.

    The break-in happened between 3 p.m. Monday and 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, when someone kicked in the door of a vacant residence, damaging the door and its frame.

    Once inside, the intruder also damaged the floor and knocked several holes in the wall.

    The damage is estimated at more than $500.

    Theft

     

    Christopher W. Caudill, 26, of 358 Frankfort Road in Shelbyville was arrested March 28 at that address and charged with fraudulent use of a credit card. He was also served with a Shelby County bench warrant for theft by deception under $500 (cold checks).

    Ernest J. Blakeley was indicted for being a persistent felony offender.

    Derrick G. Harvey of 201 Centennial Drive No. 1 in Frankfort was indicted for being a persistent felony offender, indeterminate.

    Laura A. Chase of 3000 Ash Avenue in Peewee Valley, Ky., was indicted for theft by unlawful taking over $10,000, a Class C Felony, second-degree escape, a Class D Felony and first-degree criminal mischief, a Class D Felony.

    Warrants

    Kenneth R. Downey, 19, of 3731 Burks Branch Road in Shelbyville was arrested March 16 at 7th Street at the railroad tracks on a warrant for failure to appear.

    Dion L. Keltee, 40, of 159 Baker Drive No. 302 in Shelbyville was arrested March 24 on Midland Trail on an Oldham County warrant for operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license.

    Cara Ford, 36, of 612 10th St. in Shelbyville was arrested March 24 on Main Street on a Shelby County warrant for receiving stolen property under $500.
