  • Shelby County Grand Jury Indictments Nov. 23, 2009

    Jody Wills of 667 McCormack Road in Waddy was indicted on 19 counts of theft by unlawful taking over $300.

    Christopher Beach of 8098 Shelbyville Road in Simpsonville was indicted for flagrant nonsupport.

    Adrian Murphy of 25 Summer Court in Taylorsville was indicted for second-degree assault.

    Rashee Wardford of 3921 Cane Run Road in Louisville was indicted for second-degree robbery.

    Da'ron Dugle of 1590 Greenland Park Circle in Shelbyville was indicted for second-degree robbery.

  • Shelbyville Police reports: Nov. 23, 2009

    Charles G. White, 35, of city at large in Shelbyville was arrested Nov. 20 at Midland Trail and Old Finchville Road and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol under aggravating circumstances, third offense, no operator's license and failure to maintain insurance, first offense.

    Cleotilde Morles, 35, of 707 Shelby Hall Drive in Shelbyville was arrested Nov. 22 at 450 Kentucky St. and charged with no operator's license and speeding.

    DUI  

    Richard G. McCreery, 47, of 2621 Jericho Road in La Grange was arrested Nov. 7 on I-64 and charged with DUI first offense and reckless driving.

    Mark J. Milliner, 47, of 304 Elm St. in Eminence was arrested Nov. 16 on Eminence Pike and charged with DUI, first offense, operating on a revoked or suspended operator's license, reckless driving, speeding, possession of a open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle and obstructed vision and or windshield.

  • Crime Stoppers seeks info on vandalism, theft

    Crime Stoppers is seeking information about a rash of ongoing vandalism and theft in the 800 block of Kentucky Street.

    The vandalism is in the form of spray painting on buildings in that area, which is industrial.

    And on Nov. 7, some hand tools, wrenches and sockets valued at about $100, were stolen from a truck at Early Environmental Service, located at 857 Kentucky Street.

  • Crime Stoppers seeks info on stolen wallet

    Crime Stoppers is seeking information about a theft that occurred when a wallet was stolen from a customer at Kroger in Shelbyville.

    On Oct. 26 at about 5:30 p.m., a woman was shopping at Kroger when two men approached her. The woman, 66, was looking at birthday cards.

    One of the men distracted her and the other man took her wallet from her purse, which was sitting in her shopping cart.

  • Woman robbed at Kroger

    Nellie Todd was robbed of her wallet, her money, and her credit cards, but not of her dignity.

    She said she bears no ill will toward the young man who snatched her wallet from her shopping cart when she went to Kroger last Tuesday to pick up her medication.

    "We were both wrong," she said. "It was wrong of me to leave it in the cart, and it was wrong of him to take it."

    Luis A. Ruiz-Vazquez, 35, of 6957 Taylorsville Road in Fisherville was arrested Saturday at Haven Hill and U.S. 60 and charged with no operator’s license, disregarding a stop sign, DUI, first offense, and failure to maintain insurance, first offense.

    Patricio Ubaldino, 32, of 2169 Midland Trail in Shelbyville was arrested Saturday at that address and charged with no operator’s license, no registration plates and failure to maintain insurance, first offense.

  • Simpsonville PD to get new body armor

    The City of Simpsonville has received a $3,000 state grant to purchase new body armor for its police department, Governor Steve Beshear announced Thursday.

    The money comes from the state Law Enforcement Protection Program. Under this program, administered by the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security (KOHS), appropriate agencies can seek financial help for certain defensive items essential in the course of their duties.

    Melodie Lancaster, 22, of 408 8th Street in Shelbyville was arrested Nov. 9 at the above address and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

    John R. McIntosh, 28, of 1022 High Street in Shelbyville was arrested Nov. 10 on High Street and charged with fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) with minor injury, second-degree unlawful imprisonment and menacing.
