    Kevin J. Browning, theft by deception – diversion completed – dismissed.

    Edmond France, menacing – plead guilty – 20-day sentence conditionally discharged for 2 years and $154 costs.

  • Shelby County Sheriff’s Reports Jan. 11, 2013

    David Neighbors, 50,  of 95 Raywick Road in St. Mary, Ky., was arrested Dec. 17 at 401 Main St. on Shelby County warrants for theft by unlawful taking (shoplifting) and theft by unlawful taking (disposition).

    Tyrone Burden, 23, of 1000 Detention Road was served Dec. 17 at 401 Main St. with a Shelby County warrant for contempt of court (child support).

    Richmond Phillip of 12600 Hiawatha Ave. in Louisville was arrested Dec. 17 at 401 Main St. on a Shelby County warrant for first-degree criminal mischief.

  • Shelby County Sheriff’s Reports Jan. 9, 2013

    Katherine Tingle, 30, of 3949 Bellview Road was arrested Dec. 1 on Bellview Road on a Shelby County warrant for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, first offense.

    Michael Brady, 46, of La Grange was served Nov. 30 at the Shelby County Detention Center with a Shelby County warrant for an unstated charge.

    James H. Cox, 61, of 1000 Detention Road was served Nov. 30 at the Detention Center with a Henry County warrant for an unstated charge. He was also served with a summons from Anderson County.

    DUI

    Justin Tupts, 26, of Sedan, N.M.., was arrested Nov. 30 at 1940 Waddy Road (Love's Truck Stop) and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol, first offense, theft by unlawful taking (shoplifting), receiving stolen property and possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a vehicle.

    Gregory Austin, 21, of 934 Pilcher Road in Frankfort was arrested Dec. 9 on Benson Pike and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of intoxicants.

    DUI/traffic

     

    Omar Miranda Olegado, 25, of 339 Midland Blvd. was arrested Jan. 21 on Midland Boulevard and charged operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs under aggravating circumstances, no tail lamps and failure to wear a seat belt.

    Ruben Maciel Tello, 26, of 2568 Waddy Road was arrested Jan. 28 at 182 Midland Trail and charged with no operator’s license, improper registration plate, second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and unauthorized parking in a handicapped zone.

  • Shelby's Jody Wills sent to prison for 10-year sentence

    Jody Wills, the Shelby County woman who admitted to stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from her employer, entered Shelby Circuit Court on Tuesday morning to plead her case for why the court should not revoke her probation for failing to honor her restitution schedule.

    She departed in handcuffs to begin her 10-year sentence for embezzling.

    On a cool spring day, April 6, 2008,Tonya Nicole Brown, nine months pregnant and feeling labor pains, entered the restroom of the White Castle Restaurant on Mount Eden Road and gave birth in a stall to a baby girl with dark, curly hair.

    She placed that healthy baby inside a plastic garbage bag, tied that bag at the top, placed it in a trash can and walked out of that public restroom, less than 200 feet from the safe haven of a fire station.

    In October 2010, the lawyer for Tonya Nicole Brown, in prison for delivering a full-term baby and leaving it to die, petitioned Senior Judge Steven Mershon and asked him to release Brown under the state’s shock probation program.
