One of Shelbyville’s oldest family-owned businesses has a new out-of-town partner.

An equity stake in Logan’s Linens has been acquired by Thompson Street Capital Partners, a private equity fund based in St. Louis.

Logan’s, which was founded in 1925, specializes in health-care linen management and uniform rental services to more than 50 medical facilities and 500 industrial businesses throughout the Midwest.

Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Shelley Goodwin recently was named as one of 40 Under 40 by Business First. The Sentinel-News asked her to share her thoughts here about winning the award.

Kroger in Shelbyville is about to grow into a megastore.

Triple S Planning and Zoning approved a development plan Tuesday for a new Kroger Marketplace store near the location of the current store in Hi-Point Shopping Center at Boone Station Road and Williamsburg Road in Shelbyville.

“It’s twice as big as the current store,” Ryan Libke, executive director of the Triple S Planning Commission said.

 Kentucky wine is now flowing through a new outlet in Shelby County.

Talon Winery of Lexington has opened its new vineyard tasting room at the property it acquired on Gordon Lane, just south of I-64 off Taylorsville Road.

A cardboard sign was up by the entrance on Thursday, and landscaping was continuing around the property for a soft opening, with a grand opening planned for mid-May.
