  • Virginia Davis Bruner

    Virginia Davis Bruner, 78, died Sunday, May 20, 2012 in Shelbyville.

    She was a member of Grace Assembly of God. She was retired from State of Kentucky, Department of Children Services.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Bruner.

    She is survived by her sons, Steve Hardin, Knoxville, TN; Mark Hardin, Shelbyville; 2 stepsons, Max Bruner, Shelbyville; Allan Bruner, Louisville; 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

  • Robert ‘Bob’ L. Boyle

    Robert “Bob” L. Boyle, 73, of Shelbyville, Thursday, May 17, 2012, at the Jewish Hospital in Shelbyville.

    Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Joyce Boyle of Shelbyville; sons, Stephen Boyle of Detroit, Mich., Mark Boyle of Troy, Mich.; daughters, Judy Amacher of Tazewell, Tenn., Patricia Ivey of Shelbyville; brothers, Bill Boyle of Sterling Heights, Mich., Cliff Boyle of Queensland, Australia.

    Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of the Annunciation with Father Mike Tobin officiating. Burial will follow in Grove Hill Cemetery.

    Robert Boyle, 73, died Thursday, May 17, 2012. Arrangements are pending at Shannon Funeral Home.

  • Freddie Lee Smith

    Freddie Lee Smith, 94, died Thursday, May 17, 2012, at the Masonic Home of Shelbyville.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Irene Smith.

    He is survived by his church family and his adopted family including Anna Ruth Dutton of Shelbyville.

    Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Highland Baptist Church. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday at the Shannon Funeral Home. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery.

  • Deana L. Dixon Couch

    Deana L. Dixon Couch, 49, Pleasureville, died Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville following an illness. 

    She was a native of Frankfort and the daughter of the late Anna Louise McDonald Dixon and Noah Lee Dixon, Jr. 

    She was preceded in death by one daughter, April Dawn Dixon; one son, Gabrial Scott Couch; one sister, Carol Jeanene Dixon; and one brother, Mark Nichols Dixon.

  • Patricia “Pat” Rode

    Patricia “Pat” Rode of Clearwater Fla. died May 3, 2012, at her home unexpectedly. She was a retired LPN.

    She was preceded in death by a son, Doug and daughter, Terri Rode.

    Survivors include her children Cheryl Endicott (Larry) of Mt. Crawford, Va., Diane Rode of Bagdad, Ky., Steve Rode of Blakely, Ga., and Jeff Rode of Clearwater Fl.; sister, Lila Diem (Bob) of Clearwater Fla.

    Chancey Ray Haydon, 25, died May 13, 2012 in Louisville.

    He was born in Shelbyville and was self-employed in the building industry.

  • Garland Keith ‘Bud’ Husband

    Garland Keith "Bud" Husband, 73, of Taylorsville, died on Sunday, May 13, 2012, at Jewish Hospital Shelbyville.

    A native of Spencer County, he was the son of the late Chester and Carrie McGaughey Husband.

    Survivors include his sons, Farrell Husband of Cox's Creek and Kevin Husband of Mount Washington; daughter, Carrie Husband of Taylorsville; sisters, Anna M. Bowman, Nola Martin, Helen Shelburne, Lois Shouse, and Opal Edwards all of Taylorsville.

  • Grace Lee Wood

    Grace Lee Wood passed peacefully from this earth on Monday, May 14, surrounded by loving family members.

    She was born to the late Yoder and Mary (Whitaker) Douthitt on December 18, 1922.  Grace was a native of Shelbyville, KY.  She was a homemaker and a Baptist by faith.

    Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Gayle Wood; her daughter, Connie Wood; three brothers, one sister, and two grandsons.
